McKinley Nine Months Old








Wow! I am constantly amazed at how fast children grow. In a month, I feel like I have a different baby! A baby with much more personality, one all her own.

SLEEP: She is a wonderful sleeper. I’m not kidding.
7:00/7:30pm until 6:45/7:30am
9:45/10am Until 10:45/11:30am: 1st nap
1:45/2pm Until 3/3:30pm: 2nd nap
sometimes a cat nap if we are out

In the morning I give her a bottle then lay her in the crib with her blankie and leave the room. She plays for about 30 minutes and then goes to sleep. On occasion she will fuss and I will change her diaper and then she is asleep. Same with the afternoon. Some days are alittle harder than others and might require me going in and patting her back, never to sleep but just to calm her down. Some days she will play quietly for a solid hour and then go to sleep. At night, piece of cake, bottle, lay her down and she is out until morning. She went through a brief period of liking a paci but the past two months she won’t take it, but does just fine without it. Wyatt loved his.

CHOW TIME: This girl eats when she wants and that’s all that really needs to be said! She is so picky! Some days she will eat a jar and a half and doesn’t miss a bottle. Others she goes an entire day without touching her food and only drinks some bottle. She seems to be growing fine. She is good when we go out. She is sitting in a big girl chair and will entertain herself with puffs or crackers and is very happy.

*She finally said mama!!!! On my birthday while we were waiting for the doctor to come in, she looked right at me and said it. It was the sweetest thing.

*She is dancing. This is new for her. I love watching her start dancing even with just a little music.

*Pulling up on everything! She loves to pull up and try to play with her brothers toys. This doesn’t make him happy.

*Sitting in a big girl car seat. She is so much happier. She can lean in and look at her brother and they laugh and smile at one another.

*Two bottom teeth!! A little cranky and upset tummy but other than that taking it well.

*Drinking from a straw! On the same day she broke out with mama! Big day for her!

*I also need to mention that she likes to throw up! You never know when its coming and its kinda gross, okay its really gross. She has a very bad gag reflux, tonight while out at dinner she had just finished her dinner and out it came! VERY GROSS and in the middle of a restaurant. Oh well!

Our sweet girl is getting so big and I can’t believe that her first birthday is right around the corner.

We all need friends

I remember almost a year ago when a good friend of mine invited me to a lunch group, Friday's at noon. At that time in my life I needed it! I needed to get out and meet new friends, other ladies with children about the same age, going through the same thing. This was a life saver for me. I am not a very outgoing person and it's hard to make friends when you don't have a full time job. Long story made short.... I made some GREAT friends in that group. As all good things to do though, things changed, people moved on and life became a little crazy for all of us. So the lunch group is starting up again and even though some people have left, we have some new faces to get to know! Wednesday a couple of us went out for a ladies night out and it was great! Two new people for me to get to know and I feel like I have made two new life long friends. First trip to the ER

Yesterday was a day of firsts! First time to try to potty training and first trip to the ER. Here is how we ended up there..... He woke up feeling good and we had a nice start to potty training! He didn't eat a lot of breakfast but some days he does and others he doesn't so I didn't think much about it. When lunch time rolled around he still didn't eat. He then became very cranky and uninterested in the potty thing so I let my dad take him up for his nap. He normally goes down pretty easy but today he didn't. He said that his tummy hurt and couldn't get comfortable. He finally fell asleep but didn't stay asleep long. He moved all around and cried out a couple times then finally woke up. He was NOT himself. He cried and wanted to be held. Then all of a sudden he would be fine.
