Crazy monkey blankets!

I have never heard a cry like the one I just jumped out of bed for! Come to find out, there's a good reason that cry will make any new mother jump out of bed and fly to her babys room( leaving daddy sound asleep!) our new cute monkey swaddle blanket didn't look so cute wrapped a couple times around Wyatts face!!! My child was screaming bloody murder, kicking and moving all around trying to get out of the darn thing. I quickly unwrapped it, scooped him up into my arms and he stopped! Poor baby:( We love to swaddle him at night because he sleeps so well. However now that he moves all around at night, we may go to a sleep sack! That was to scary for me. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Wyatt and Wilson

Image
Last night we enjoyed Wife Saver with the Zimmermans and their new baby boy Wilson. Even though it was only three months ago, I can't remember Wyatt being that small. Wilson has the same outfit as Wyatt so we put them together and had a little photo shoot! They are so cute together!

All night long

As I sit here pumping in bed at 3:30 in the morning, I wonder how I got my little one to sleep all night long in his crib! I'm watching wiggle and move on the baby monitor and thank God that he can now sleep all night with no help! Me on the other hand, well I'm trying to keep that milk supply up and create a supply for when we go out of town. When will my days of All Night Long come? - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Movies...Past and Present!

I love classic movies! Some of my favorites include Singin' in the Rain, Casablanca, My Fair Lady, Anchors Aweigh, For Me and My Gal, An Affair to Remember, The Grapes of Wrath and the list goes on. No wonder I'm a major in history! I can now add to my list, Gone with the Wind. I started it on Saturday night and ended it with Todd on Sunday morning. I was surprised that he liked it as much as he did because he is not a big movie fan. Something about this movie just drew me in and I now want to add it to our movie collection, although I'm not sure when I will be able to find three hours to watch it again. I'm sure that I am the last person to finally see this movie but if you haven't watched it yet...rent it! As much as I love classic movies, I also love current hits, for example Twilight! Yes, I said it I like the twilight series. I am to old for it but I must say after seeing the first movie, I went out and read, ok I listened to all four book and feel in love with

Baby Wilson Zimmerman

Image
Baby Wilson Zimmerman Amber did great and at 7:53 on Wednesday evening Wilson arrived. He was 6lbs and 14 oz and I believe 20 inches long. I will have to make sure that’s correct. Todd and I were able to get down there at about 8:15 and see him shortly after he arrived. It was such a wonderful experience to see Wilson with Amber right after birth and then to see him in the nursery and talk to Amber and Scott. Scott was so excited and I think both were worn out from the long day! Amber looked great though! Wilson is a gorgous baby boy and I really mean that. He is one good looking little man. We went back down there today and got to hold him and visit some more and I can’t wait for Wyatt to meet him.

Early Thanksgiving

Image
Since my family is going to Montana over Thanksgiving they decided to have an early Thanksgiving at the Lake. It was great, three turkeys, dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, yummy rolls, and lots of other good stuff! My mom cooked for two days and I have to say she did an AMAZING JOB!! Close family friends, Lynn and Daniel hammonds, their daughter lindi and Aniela, Aniela’s husband Brett, their aunt and uncle Mike and bobby jean, Kathy Keip, Spencer, kacey, Austin, and of course Todd, Wyatt and myself and Mimi and Papa! Todd and I spent the night at the lake so they could get an early start on cooking the turkeys. We ended up with todd smoking one, Papa cooking one in the oven and Brett came over to deep fry one. They were all great!! Later in the day we were joined by Amber and Scott and spent the rest of they day just enjoying each others company. I love family time!!

My Friend Amber

Tonight my dear friend Amber is at the hospital waiting on baby Wilson to arrive! I haven't known Amber long but in the short time I have known her our friendship (along with both our bellies) has grown ALOT! I can't say enough good things about Amber and her husband Scott. I remember the day Amber told us she was pregnant and the day she told us that Wyatt wouldn't have a girlfriend but would have a best friend. I love that Wilson and Wyatt are going to grow up together and become life long friends! I know that tonight Amber is in a hospital bed hooked up to monitors and just wondering what time Wilson will arrive. It reminds me of August 24th when I was in the same position just as nervous as she is. She is a strong women and I know that she is going to do great! Anyone that is reading this please keep her in your thoughts and prayers! We wish her the best of luck and we can't wait to get the news that Wilson has arrived! Amber, I haven't known you long but I cons

Thoughts on Nursing

Who knew that breastfeeding would be such a challenge! For some it comes easily and naturally, for others it is more of a challenge. I’m in the other category. After two and a half months Wyatt and I are still in struggle but working hard and making it work for the both of us. A day for us consists of nursing in the morning, bottle of breast milk, bottle of formula, nursing and then a bottle before bed combined with nursing. Then while he is sleeping I set my alarm and get up to pump every 4 hours. I know that breastfeeding is not just giving him breast milk in a bottle but for us this works. Every day it does get a little easier, but waking up during the night while my little one is sound asleep is getting harder and harder. What’s funny is the places that I find my self pumping so that I can maintain the supply even when away from Wyatt or when nursing isn’t an option for us. While at my brother’s graduation in Orlando, it was at the Hardrock cafĂ© bathroom, and then in Universal stud

Wyatt's trip to Orlando and Halloween

Image
What don’t you need to take a two month old to Orlando Florida for five days?? I managed to narrow it down to a small duffle bag, a laundry basket, a stroller/bassinet, a pump, and a diaper bag. Then I had to throw in my duffle bag, camera and my breast friend. Can’t go anywhere without that thing! On Wednesday afternoon we loaded into my fathers car and leaving Todd, we headed to Florida! In addition to Wyatt’s stuff we had Wyatt’s Mimi, papa and his uncle Spencer. We finally made it down there and on Thursday evening Todd joined us with Austin, Lindsey and Austin’s friend Nick. It was great having a hotel with connecting rooms and a little living room in the middle. I never thought about having a fridge before but it was very nice to have with all the milk that we had to keep cool and the dishwasher was also a nice addition for all the bottles that we had to keep washing. It was also great to have all the help that we did. In the morning when Wyatt would wake up Papa and Mimi would o
