Happy Birthday Daddy

Image
Happy Happy Birthday honey! We love you and think the world of you. We hope that you had a WONDERFUL day!! Around here we celebrate a birthday for about a week! I love it. Saturday we went to the 5 o'clock bistro to celebrate with his mom, Ken, Uncle and Aunt. Sunday we enjoyed Mexican with my mom, dad, aunt and Chip, Liz and the kiddos. It was crazy and fun! Tonight we enjoyed crab leg night at FMGW with Liz. Chip and the kiddos. We just love seeing them! Todd's birthday celebrations were full of strawberry cake, cookie cake, special dessert from Chip and Liz, and yummy brownie dessert at the bistro. Good for Todd but bad for my diet:(! Happy Birthday honey! We love you more than you know!

Training Day #21

6 am is EARLY but Liz and I did it! 2 miles done at LiveFit. It was tough this morning. I was tired and I think just not in the mind to run. After running outside Saturday, the treadmill wasnt much fun. I'm happy I did it though! DISTANCE: 2 miles TIME: 28 minutes

Training Day #20

Back outside and it was great! It was a little chilly this morning we when started but there wasn't much wind so that was nice. Today we did 5 miles at a very nice pace, all staying together. It was never really hard for me, not like the day we ran 6 miles and I thought I might not make it. I love running now! Even if I don't want to do it when I wake up, once I get out there it feels good. Might become a new hobby. DISTANCE: 5 miles TIME: 1 hour and 11 minutes

Conversations with Wyatt

W-"I see Mimi!" Me-"Mimi's not here baby." W-"I see Papa? Where Papa is?" Me-"Papa and Mimi are at the beach." W-"No!" Me-"Yes, Mimi and Papa are in Florida." W-"No! Mimi not in Florida." Todd and I started laughing because he was certain Mimi and Papa were NOT in Florida. He was just so darn cute we really couldn't help it. W-"It not funny! No funny! I go see Mimi and Papa." he is yelling this. Me-"You can see them later, right now we have to go home." Just then he saw Target across from Chick-Fil-A. W-"I go there!" Todd-"I bet you and mommy wanna go there, but it's closed." W-"No! It's not closed! I go target!" Then he sees a resturant. W-"I eat, I go eat there. Look it's open, it not closed!" Me-"Wyatt we have to go home baby." W-"Ok, I eat at home, yogurt and milk!" Me-"Ok, you can have yogurt when we get home

Training Day #19

One would think that after you have done 8 miles, 3 miles would be a breeze! THINK AGAIN!! It was harder today. My foot started to hurt, my ankles were hurting, knees didn't feel best, and to top it off I wore some new pants and HATED them! I was hot and felt like they were glued to me. I kept with it though and made it through. Hoping Thursday goes better! DISTANCE: 3 miles TIME: 43 minutes

Training Day #18

8 MILES!!!!!!!! Yes we did 8 miles...on a treadmill! At first the thought of doing it on a treadmill killed me! For some reason I tend to be slower on a treadmill and I didn't know if I could just stay in the same place for what I thought would be like 3 hours! On the other hand, I hate running in the cold and when you add the rain, well that just wasn't gonna happen! When we did 6 miles two weeks ago, I honestly thought I was going to die! It was hard and new pains started to pop up, my toe, my foot, my abs! This time it was smooth sailing! I'm being honest! I don't want to say it was easy because it's not walk in the park but I got a good groove and 3 minutes didn't seem like an eternity. The last mile was the hardest. My foot started to hurt again but I pushed through and ran the last .7 without stopping. I was feeling like crap before the run. We waited until 3 and I had slight headache and just wanted to take a nap but I did it and after I did, I felt great

McKinley Ten Months Old

Image
This is McKinley when she is mad that she can't have something.... There are a few words that describe the personality that McKinley currently has.... determined stubborn sweet reserved picky smiley content She has spent the last month developing her personality. She is the baby of the family and some days I don't give her enough credit. I watch her do something and seem so shocked, but then I realize that she isn't 6 months old anymore. I love watching her play and discover new things every day. She is a BUSY little bee! SLEEP: Love/hate with sleep. She sleeps through the night, has been waking some but just fusses a little and goes back down by herself. During the day she will fight it sometimes, but other times she will just go right to sleep. Some afternoons she will play for an hour or more before falling asleep. Here's how her day is spent.... 7:00/7:45: wake up- happy and playing (unless she is dirty- then she is not happy) given 8oz bottle( normally drinks at le

Weekly Weigh In

So I lost weight but it wasn't as much as I wanted. Maybe I need to set smaller goals? I am going to get there one day and every little pound makes a difference. This week it took..... Saturday: 4.7 mile run Monday: legs with Ivan/6:30 killer spin class Tuesday: 2 mile run Wednesday: 2 mile run/30 minutes spin class with Jenna/arms with Ivan Thursday: 2 mile run Friday: heading over for a 30 minute spin class and workout with Ivan Weight Friday February 17th: 162.2 Total weight loss up to this point: 9.6lbs It wasn't as good, but I did start a little higher on Monday. I am doing much better with sticking to the diet and eating right. I am only having ONE bad meal this weekend, a v-day celebration at Frog Hollow with my sweetie!

Because we do more than train for a half...

A few pictures of what we have been up to lately. I'm sure you are getting tired of hearing about my training (sorry, it helps me!). I promise a 10 month update/an update on Wyatt and I never got around to writing about my new shoes! Hopefully tomorrow! ENJOY.....

Training Day #17

***This was our running day but I do want to note that we got up at 5:30 am on Wednesday morning and put in another 2 miles!*** Tonight was GREAT!! It was great! I walked for 5 minutes to start, not really because I meant to but because I got caught up talking to someone. Once I started though, I didn't stop! That's right, I ran 2 miles NON-STOP! I will continue to follow the galloway method but I was proud of myself for making it! It felt good. DISTANCE: 2 miles TIME: 28 MINUTES- on a treadmill.

Training Day #16

Just another two miles on the treadmill! Did a 10 minute stretch though and felt great. I don't feel like I am going to die anymore. Two miles seems so easy compared to the 6 we did or the 8 we are going to do this weekend. DISTANCE: 2 MILES

Training Day #15

I AM NOT A FAN OF RUNNING WHEN ITS COLD AND WINDY!!!! It was very hard to get my breathing correct and under control. All that being said, knees felt pretty good, feet didn't hurt as bad as last Saturday and no new blisters on my toes. I didn't get to run in my new five finger shoes, I was a little worried about doing 4 miles in them. You have to start out slowly with them. Liz really pushed me today, made me run further than I wanted to and was beside me the whole way! TIME: 57 minutes DISTANCE: 4.7 miles

Weekly Weigh In

I am sad to say that I DID NOT meet my goal this week! BOO! Let me explain.... Friday I was at 163.5... I then preceded to eat Mexican with my mother-in-law, fries at the village deli, 2 publix brownies, green jacket salad, 2 slices of thin crust pizza, some yummy stuff at West Lake Country Club, 1 chicken finger and 2 wings.... all in a weekend!!!! Oh the joys of having family in town and watching the super bowl! Sunday I started the week at 166.6 and knew that my goal of reaching 161.5 was probably not going to happen but I would give it my all and I did! Saturday-ran 6 miles Monday-spin class and weights with Ivan Tuesday-ran 3.5 miles Wednesday-6am spin with Ivan/4pm (30 minute)spin/weights with Ivan Thursday-ran 2 miles I followed my diet and did good until Thursday night- Todd and I did go to the Roosters beak:(. This mornings weigh in wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either..... Weight Friday February 10th: 163.0 GOAL for Friday February 17TH: 159.5 Hoping to have a

Training Day #14

Don't you just LOVE a 5:15 wake up call and a 6 am run....NO, but once we got started it was a great way to start my day. Thursday was my second early morning workout and I have to admit I do love starting my day with an hour workout and time to get ready with no kids screaming at me to eat! Thursday morning Liz and I met at Livefit (I'm not a fan of running in cold weather!) to put in our 1.5 miles. We ended up doing 2! I was even able to do all 5/1's and in my fivefinger shoes! Felt great.

Training Day #13

Yesterdays run was GREAT! 3.5 miles felt really good and surprisingly not as hard as is has been. I'm not sure if it was my new shoes (more on this later) or the energy drink we tried, but whatever it was, it was great. We headed to livefit to do a little treadmill running. My time is always longer on a treadmill but I tend to do better. Instead of the normal 3/1 I did a bunch of 5/1's and a few 4/1's. I even did a 10 minute stretch of running and it felt great. I am really starting to love this whole running thing! TIME: not sure DISTANCE: 3.5 miles

Training Day #12

Oh my! This was a tough one. The first 3.5 KILLED ME! My dad and mom decided to join us on their bikes. Mom was going to run with us, but due to a hurt knee the doctor told her to back off. It was actually great to have them! My aunt (the trainer) brought her running buddy and because they got to talking they left Liz and I in the dust! The problem with this is that we depend on her to time us on our 3/1's. Well when we could no longer see her, we just kept running, thinking surely someone will tell us that our 3 minutes are UP! No one did! My dad kept telling me that we were almost there! The mile marker was just around the corner. Oh, no I'm sorry just around this corner, no wait it's just around this corner! I was so happy when I finally saw that 3.5 mile marker, because it meant that we got to turn around and run 3 more miles back! I would have given anything for a sip of water! My prayers were answered when my aunt said that there was a water fountain! A short run to t

Weekly Weigh In

Last Friday I set a goal for myself, if I met this goal by today, I got my cheat day Saturday. If I didn't, then no cheat day! Weight last Friday- January 27th: 167.2 Goal for February 3rd: 164.0 Today's Weight- February 3rd: 163.5!!!!!! GOAL for February 9th: 161.5 (I'm setting it this day because Todd and I have a date night planned and I am going to take my cheat meal that day if I make it!) It took 8.5 miles running, 1 great spin class and eating good all week..... It was well worth to make this small goal that I set for myself! It was not easy watching my whole family eat Chinese food and popcorn in front of me last night, but I happily ate my grilled chicken, brown rice and salad to see that my goal weight for the week was reached! In the end it was all worth it. Anyone else trying to loose weight or get in shape?

Chick-a-lay!

Wednesday night is normally chick-fil-a night with daddy and the babies. He has told me he loves going there because they are so helpful and kid friendly. Todd is a brave soul! Both the kids could be in cranky moods and he will still brave taking them out. I would call for a pizza or make a quick dinner. I'm just not as brave as he is! RARELY do I even take both of them out to eat on my own. I normally make sure that we are at least meeting friends there. A second pair of hands ALWAYS comes in handy. Today though, we had to get out of the house. By 10 I didn't want to see anymore runny noses, or hear any more whining about the fact that we don't have anymore blueberries! Wyatt cried for a solid 25 minutes because we ran out of them. No kidding, 25 minutes. He also wanted to eat everything in site. Every 20 minutes he was hungry and wanted to eat again. Pancakes, waffles, blueberries, raspberries, nutragrain bar, yogurt, another bar, milk, cheese, more milk, finally I just s
