First trip to the ER

Yesterday was a day of firsts! First time to try to potty training and first trip to the ER. Here is how we ended up there.....

He woke up feeling good and we had a nice start to potty training! He didn't eat a lot of breakfast but some days he does and others he doesn't so I didn't think much about it. When lunch time rolled around he still didn't eat. He then became very cranky and uninterested in the potty thing so I let my dad take him up for his nap. He normally goes down pretty easy but today he didn't. He said that his tummy hurt and couldn't get comfortable. He finally fell asleep but didn't stay asleep long. He moved all around and cried out a couple times then finally woke up. He was NOT himself. He cried and wanted to be held. Then all of a sudden he would be fine. Then minutes later he would say his tummy hurt, then drop to his knees and cry and move around trying to get comfortable. It was so sad. My parents wanted him to spend the night since they were going out of town soon and even though he wasn't feeling well they still offered to take him. Around 7:30 they called to check in and said that he hadn't been to the bathroom since nap time and he hadn't had anything to eat or drink. She also informed me that he had been uncomfortable with moments of pain and crying. She also told me that he had fallen asleep at the end of their bed, in pain. This concerned me!! This kid hasn't slept in a big bed since he was 4 months old.

I called to the nurse on call and she then called my mom to find out more details and my mom was told to take Wyatt to the nearest ER. Todd told me to stay with McKinley and he met my parents at the ER with wyatt. They had to do an IV, xray and give him fluids. My mom said she could tell when the fluids started to kick in because he started to come back to life. He was dehydrated and they think he might have had a touch of the stomach bug. By 12:45 he was in his crib sound asleep until 7:!5. Today he is back to himself, well mostly! What a scare!!!
