Day 9 Santorini Greece


Day 9 Santorini, Greece:
Beautiful! Simply beautiful! We actually woke up at 10:00! I can’t remember the last time I slept or even just stayed in bed until 10am! I woke up at 6:45 but thought I’d sleep until 9 and then go workout before getting off the boat. At 9 I woke up and decided to give myself until 9:30 and well I didn’t get to work out this morning! Instead we slept in, met Nancy and Ken for lunch and then went to get the tender to Santorini. 10 minutes later and we were forced to make a tough decision; walk up a flight of 600 stairs( 890 feet above the Port), take a donkey ride up the flight of stairs or wait in line for a cable car. At first glance the wait for the cable car looked long, turns out there wasn’t a wait at all. We were up to the top in no time. We walked around for awhile and then ended up in the a small hotel lobby which was actually the site of the post office in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Here we grabbed a car to the Oia (EE-AH) to see the beautiful white houses and blue top churches. It was stunning. Everything about it was breathtaking. We were only there about an hour but it was just long enough to take some great pictures and buy a nice scarf!
It was about a 45 minute wait for the cable car to get back down to the port and we only had an hour and 15 minutes before the last tender left. THEREFORE… we were left walking down the 600 steps! To top it off, I decided to wear cute leather bottom sandals instead of my running shoes! Why oh why did I do that? It took me a good 30 minutes to walk down it and I had to do it VERY carefully. I can’t tell you the number of times I almost slipped. However, we made it down.

We all need friends

I remember almost a year ago when a good friend of mine invited me to a lunch group, Friday's at noon. At that time in my life I needed it! I needed to get out and meet new friends, other ladies with children about the same age, going through the same thing. This was a life saver for me. I am not a very outgoing person and it's hard to make friends when you don't have a full time job. Long story made short.... I made some GREAT friends in that group. As all good things to do though, things changed, people moved on and life became a little crazy for all of us. So the lunch group is starting up again and even though some people have left, we have some new faces to get to know! Wednesday a couple of us went out for a ladies night out and it was great! Two new people for me to get to know and I feel like I have made two new life long friends. First trip to the ER

Yesterday was a day of firsts! First time to try to potty training and first trip to the ER. Here is how we ended up there..... He woke up feeling good and we had a nice start to potty training! He didn't eat a lot of breakfast but some days he does and others he doesn't so I didn't think much about it. When lunch time rolled around he still didn't eat. He then became very cranky and uninterested in the potty thing so I let my dad take him up for his nap. He normally goes down pretty easy but today he didn't. He said that his tummy hurt and couldn't get comfortable. He finally fell asleep but didn't stay asleep long. He moved all around and cried out a couple times then finally woke up. He was NOT himself. He cried and wanted to be held. Then all of a sudden he would be fine. Then minutes later he would say his tummy hurt, then drop to his knees and cry and move around trying to get comfortable. It was so sad. My parents wanted him to spend the night si...
