McKinley Eight Months Old





She is eight months old!! It was around this time with Wyatt that I was WANTING another baby! I am happy to report that I do NOT have that feeling right now. I love that M is my baby! Now on to what she is up to....

SLEEP: Still sleeping through the night! Very thankful for this because when Wyatt turned 8 months he had a very short phase where he liked to wake up in the middle of the night and had a hard time going back to sleep. Right now she is going down so easy at night and still taking okay naps during the day. Some naps are longer than others, it really seems to depend on the day. I can't seem to get her on a schedule to save my life!! Wyatt was on such a structured schedule and well she just does her own thing. She is pretty good at putting herself to sleep, it reminds me a lot of Wyatt. I give her a bottle or read her some books and then lay her down with her bunny blanket and bunny animal and she plays until she goes to sleep. She will normally play for about 30 minutes unless she is really tired! Some times I have to go back and reassure her, pat her butt and then leave the room again, but she normally goes to sleep on her own. I will say that ever since she has learned that she can pull herself up, she has had a harder time going down! Bedtime is SO EASY! Bottle and lay her in crib, she goes to sleep right on her own, no peep out of her. Here's what her day looks like....

between 6:30/7:30: wake up for the day- she is pretty quiet in her crib once she wakes and is happy playing unless she has a dirty diaper, then she is crying.
7/8am: 8 oz bottle
8/9: breakfast
9/10: morning nap- normally about an hour or hour and a half
10:30/11: 8oz bottle
12:00: lunch
1:00/2:15: 8 oz bottle and afternoon nap
5:00: sometimes a 4 oz bottle
6:00: dinner
7:00pm: 8 oz and dinner

Her day basically includes two, sometimes three naps, 4 sometimes 5 bottles, and three meals.

CHOW TIME: She eats when she is hungry! Loves, loves and I mean loves apples and blueberry mix or blueberry and banana mix! Sometimes she will eat a packet and a half sometimes she doesn't want to eat at all! You never know with her. She likes to entertain herself with puffs and mummums(I think that's what they are called). She won't drink juice out of her sippy or water, she really just plays with it!

WHAT SHE'S UP TO: She loves to day dada but hasn't said anything else yet! She is not as chatty as Wyatt was, she likes to take it all in. VERY smiley!!! She has recently started to pull up on her crib and other things. She is still doing the army crawl and is getting much fast. Loves musical toys! Very entertained watching her brother. Starting to wave a little!

We just love our sweet girl!

We all need friends

I remember almost a year ago when a good friend of mine invited me to a lunch group, Friday's at noon. At that time in my life I needed it! I needed to get out and meet new friends, other ladies with children about the same age, going through the same thing. This was a life saver for me. I am not a very outgoing person and it's hard to make friends when you don't have a full time job. Long story made short.... I made some GREAT friends in that group. As all good things to do though, things changed, people moved on and life became a little crazy for all of us. So the lunch group is starting up again and even though some people have left, we have some new faces to get to know! Wednesday a couple of us went out for a ladies night out and it was great! Two new people for me to get to know and I feel like I have made two new life long friends. First trip to the ER

Yesterday was a day of firsts! First time to try to potty training and first trip to the ER. Here is how we ended up there..... He woke up feeling good and we had a nice start to potty training! He didn't eat a lot of breakfast but some days he does and others he doesn't so I didn't think much about it. When lunch time rolled around he still didn't eat. He then became very cranky and uninterested in the potty thing so I let my dad take him up for his nap. He normally goes down pretty easy but today he didn't. He said that his tummy hurt and couldn't get comfortable. He finally fell asleep but didn't stay asleep long. He moved all around and cried out a couple times then finally woke up. He was NOT himself. He cried and wanted to be held. Then all of a sudden he would be fine.
