4 am and dinosaurs

Wyatt was up at 4 this morning! Let me repeat that....FOUR IN THE MORNING!!! Up, lights on, playing with his little animals, just as happy as he could be. He didn't even ask for me, I just happened to turn over and see him. I can handle 5:15, 6:00, because he will stay in his crib for about 45 minutes to an hour playing but I CAN'T and I repeat CAN NOT handle a 4 am wake up call. I tried to explain to him that it was night night time and still dark outside. At first he looked at me with a very sad look but I just rocked him and laid him back down. I couldn't fall asleep! I watched him lay quietly for maybe 30 minutes and then I saw him get up. He played quietly and I went in and out of sleep until 5:50 when he was ready to get up, and in hopes of keeping McKinley asleep Todd got up to get him and put him in our bed.

I will say this, on most days he will stay happily in our room while we lay in bed or get ready until about 7. I try really hard to keep him happy upstairs until 7:30/8. If I can get myself ready before the kiddos wake up, our morning is a much happier one!!! I am a much happier person! When I have to try to get ready with both kids awake, I GO CRAZY! All that being said, Wyatt was in bed by 7:45 in hopes of sleeping in or at least until 6!

It all started with a dinosaur! My dad mentioned to Wyatt that when he uses the big boy potty he would buy him a dinosaur. Finally at 7pm Tuesday night he went! I am happy to report that I have a little man who is using the potty (on occasion). Will he tell me when he has to go? NO. Will he scream at me when I ask him to use the potty? YES. Will he always sit on it willingly? NO. Will he use the potty to get a prize out of the jar? ABSOLUTELY! That's right, I'm using small toys, mainly dinosaurs to get my child to sit on the potty. It's working! He was dry pretty much all day, even after nap. He went in the potty 3 times today. At first he doesn't like sitting there, but if I can calm him down and just get his mind on something else, he starts going! We aren't there yet, but we are one step closer. I'm thrilled about this!
