Saying Goodbye

For the few people out there that read this blog, don't worry! I am not saying goodbye to blogging. Sadly though I am saying goodbye to a dear friend of mine! I am saying goodbye to Faris and her sweet family! I have known Faris for two years but it wasn't until this past February when I really got to know and become close friends with her. We had bonded a little before that with the birth of Wyatt and then the birth of her second being very close together, but it wasn't until she invited me to her "lunch bunch" on Fridays that we became really close. The Friday lunch group saved me! Really, Todd was in Atlanta at the time and I was trying hard to find other mommies to connect with. Her reaching out to me and including me opened the door to many new friendships! Over the summer I had to say goodbye to another friend I made in the group, but I have high hopes that her and her family will one day return to Augusta. Followed by another friend, but she's only an hour away. It's sad but I know people have to move on. Move on to great new adventures!

Faris and I began to get together beyond just Fridays at noon, we started getting together with three other ladies to form a small playgroup. Another life saver! We also started to enjoy girls night out, a chance for all of us to leave the kids at home and just enjoy a dinner together. I would not know any of these amazing women had it not been for Faris and Fridays at noon. Its not like she is moving across country but she won't be right across town! So I guess I should be saying, "See ya later!"

We all need friends

I remember almost a year ago when a good friend of mine invited me to a lunch group, Friday's at noon. At that time in my life I needed it! I needed to get out and meet new friends, other ladies with children about the same age, going through the same thing. This was a life saver for me. I am not a very outgoing person and it's hard to make friends when you don't have a full time job. Long story made short.... I made some GREAT friends in that group. As all good things to do though, things changed, people moved on and life became a little crazy for all of us. So the lunch group is starting up again and even though some people have left, we have some new faces to get to know! Wednesday a couple of us went out for a ladies night out and it was great! First trip to the ER

Yesterday was a day of firsts! First time to try to potty training and first trip to the ER. Here is how we ended up there..... He woke up feeling good and we had a nice start to potty training! He didn't eat a lot of breakfast but some days he does and others he doesn't so I didn't think much about it. When lunch time rolled around he still didn't eat. He then became very cranky and uninterested in the potty thing so I let my dad take him up for his nap. He normally goes down pretty easy but today he didn't. He said that his tummy hurt and couldn't get comfortable. He finally fell asleep but didn't stay asleep long. He moved all around and cried out a couple times then finally woke up. He was NOT himself. He cried and wanted to be held. Then all of a sudden he would be fine.
