Our trip to Montana

2 hour drive to Atlanta, unload into a hotel, quick nights rest, 2 hours to Minneloplis st. paul, an hour to make it off the plane and to the next gate, 2.5 hours to Kalispell Montana, 45 minute drive to the park on a paved road, and 30 minutes on a BUMPY dirt road to the cabin. WHAT A LONG DAY! Oh and lets add the time change in there to throw us off. Little did I know that the comforts of home didn’t await us…..

1. You’re an hour from a decent grocery store or hospital- let me clarify- there is a small town you pass (20 minutes form cabin)- ONE store/bakery/sandwiches, and internet!- with out door toliets and bathin facitlities, hostels, and a small one room, one small kitchen resturant open from 4-9. We went back in time!
2. No heat or air conditioning in the cabin- a fire place and the fact that heat rises. Our room got hot at night but during the day we needed to stay bundled up around the house.
3. Solar power- a couple of rules went along with this- NEVER leave anything plugged in unless you leave a light on/ NEVER plug anything on at night (my dad let Wyatt’s sound machine be the exception, if we left a light on! Thank Goodness, because you could hear a pin drop throughout the entire cabin!/ use electricity sparingly
4. NO CABLE/NO TELEVISION- I love it to fall asleep so this was a little sad, but ended up being a great thing and didn’t even miss it!
5. Luke warm showers- okay, they weren’t cold but they weren’t hot! Something about the alitutde and needing to be adjusted but he needed to figure out how. All I know is I didn’t want to stay in long but on the other hand I didn’t want to get out because it was cold!

The cabin is beautiful even if it's not completely finished and the scenery is breathtaking! All that being said we had a GREAT TIME at the cabin! Relaxing, exploring near by towns and just enjoying the wonderful weather. Wyatt also enjoyed waking up at 5 am the first couple of days, then he pushed it back to 7. Luckily his Papa is also an early riser!! I spent one day sick as can be and thankful that I had family to take care of Wyatt and the rest of the days just feeling okay. Wyatt did great on the flight to Montana and also on the way home. He slept for almost 3 hours on the flight home and was such a trooper!! Let me just say that getting him his own seat and taking his carseat (while it might have been a pain in the butt to role through the airport) was the way to go!!!!
