Happy to have a Doc

When we first found out that we were pregnant we had to start the doctor hunt because I knew that I didn't want to deliver at Doctors. So we end our journey doctor hunting for Pediatrician. We got three great recommendations but decided that we would only meet two. Yesterday we met with Doctor Jerry Miller and today we meet with Doctor Sandra Herzwurm. I was a little thrown off by the office staff at Miller's office when I called to schedule this appointment but tried to go with an open mind. They just wanted us to circle his name at the hospital and read about him on their website. Miller was a very nice doctor whom took the time to sit down and talk to us about our concerns and even joke a little with Todd. My main question for both doctors was about immunizations and how we wish to precede with them. He said that he would do what we wanted however he didn't agree with our reasoning. I was fine with this knowing that we would more than likely not find a doctor that shared our same beliefs on the matter. We left the meeting with mixed emotions. We both knew that he would be an excellent doctor and came highly recommended but I didn't get that "This is the one" feeling. Today we went to meet Dr. Herzwurm whom came recommended by my aunt and our doctor George Williams. Right off the bat we liked the difference in the waiting room, this time the "well" and "sick" rooms were separated not only by merely turning left or right but by doors. We entered the "well" room and was pleasantly surprised again to find not only softer chairs but a tv playing children's movies and some books and magazines. I say we were pleasantly surprised because Miller's office had two long benched and some wooden chairs. Not that it really matters but if you have to wait you should be comfortable. After waiting for maybe five minutes past our appointment time Herzwurm came out to greet us. Her bubbly personality and friendly smile really made me feel comfortable and excited about our meeting. We sat in her office she immediately shared some information about her and the practice and then answered our questions. I don't know that she agrees with why we want to space out our shots, that doesn't matter to me, she didn't make us feel wrong for wanting to do it. She even said that she had some other moms doing it and that she would help us decide what is the most important to get and what we can wait on. I loved it!! Bubbly, warm and willing to help us vaccinate our child the way we want to. I was so happy when I left her office and I think Todd was too. We both agreed that she was the one for us, well for Wyatt. I am so excited that we found her! For anyone looking for a pediatrician I highly recommend meeting both of these doctors and making your own decision. They are both great and even though Miller wasn't the one for us he might be for someone else.
